A distinctive green tea that reflects its Japanese cousin and is perfect for everyday drinking.

The leaves are long with a crisp dryness and once brewed the tea is lightly yellow in colour with and grassy yet subtly floral scent.

Sencha (煎茶) is a type of Japanese ryokucha (緑茶, green tea) which is prepared by infusing the processed whole tea leaves in hot water.

Did You Know…

Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan.

The flavour depends upon the season and place where it is produced, but shincha, or “new tea” from the first flush of the year, is considered the most delicious.

Description

A distinctive green tea that reflects its Japanese cousin and is perfect for everyday drinking.

The ideal colour of the sencha beverage is a greenish golden colour. Depending upon the temperature of the water in which it is decocted, the flavour will be different, adding to the appeal of sencha.

With relatively more temperate water, it is relatively mellow; with hot water, it is more astringent.

Brewing Instructions

  1. Tayler

My partner and I are both green tea lovers and we were both very impressed with this Sencha tea! It has lovely flavour, not too strong. Our favourite thing about it is that this is the only green tea we have found that we can both drink while intermittent fasting that doesn’t cause a nauseous feeling…So nice as that has been a real struggle for us not being able to have tea while fasting until now!

Thanks for your lovely comments Tayler 🙂 Sencha Green is one of our favourites, nice and subtle. We like to compare it to the Wagamama green tea. Enjoy! ☕
